Nice to learn that his publishing background not only prepared him, but kept him eager to edit and revise as needed to get the best possible book. You propelled me into writing my first book in 2004, and for that, I will always thank you. Now starting a new writing project, but still struggling with repatriation. Thanks so much for the perfect definition of home!

Re: Where do you belong?

Love this. “Home is where you do not have to explain yourself.”
Absolutely! I’ve been a child expat and also an adult one. British people seem to be very wary of you if you have lived in a foreign country.
I’m British, yet, the moment someone knows I’ve lived in another country or speak another language fluently, I’m automatically suspected of being a foreigner. Nothing wrong with being a foreigner. But why this attitude?
I often cringe when people ask where I’m from. Find out about me. Where I was born is just a place, it does not define me.
Home is wherever I’m happy and with my family.

Re: Where do you belong?

Jo, you just touched my heart.
